Jane was a beautiful soul who had a love for God, her family, and all those around her. Jane was born to the late Stan and Shirley Croft. She was raised in Windsor Ontario, where she attended Forster Secondary School as well as Hands Secondary School and went on to later receive her diploma as a medical receptionist. Jane grew up with her siblings Michelle (Shelly), Matt and Marty. They were a very tight knit family who loved to spend as much time together as possible. Jane loved to roller skate as a youth and the roller rink is where she met the love of her life Derrick. It was truly love at first sight and this union led to a quick engagement and marriage which stood the test of time. Jane and Derrick created a beautiful family together which consisted of three children and four grandchildren. Her family was her world and as much as she loved them, she always had extra love to share with others. Many called her mom because that’s what she was to them. The doors were always opened to anyone in need. Everyone who knew her loved her. She always had an ear to hear your problems and a kind word to respond. Jane was greeted in heaven by her parents Stan and Shirley Croft, her brothers Matt and Marty, her father-in-law Pastor Melvin Freeman Sr., and her brothers-in-law Donnie and Richard. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband Derrick, her loving children Derrick Jr. (Monique), Tina (Jon), and Melissa; her grandchildren Derrick (Boo), Caleb (Bugga baby), Cole (Coli Oli) and Malachi (Mooch). Her mother-in-law Cora Freeman and brothers & sisters in law Eugene (Carol) Kevin, Cheryl, Debbie (Woody), Lucy, George (Lorraine), Lisa, Stephanie (Tim) and Melvin (Kim). She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
