Passed away peacefully on July 11 at age 95 years of age at Iler Lodge Essex. Loving wife of the late “Al” Albert 1984. Beloved mother of Jeff (Deborah), John (Geraldine) and the late Catherine. Loving grandmother of Catherine (Kris) Spoors, A. Joseph Schaljo, Ken Schaljo, Vincent (Veronique) Schaljo, Emily Schaljo and great grandmother of Hunter and Noah Spoors. Dear daughter of the late Delbert and Mabel Sweet from Gesto, and the sister of the late Nelda (Bernard Boyle), Rhoda (Melvin Myers) and Harold. Loving daughter-in-law of the late Albert and Adela Schaljo and sister-in-law of Lydia and Jerry Trefzger. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Jo was born and grew up on a farm in Gesto. Attended Essex High, and continued her education at the University of Western Ontario, Victoria Hospital in London in nursing. Jo worked for Victorian Order of Nurses in Toronto and Windsor as a District Nurse and then a part-time teacher of prenatal class’s for new moms for more than 30 years. She was a member of Glenwood United Church serving as a trustee, member of the Church Board, Sunday School, Explorers Youth Group, The John Howard Society, Pastoral Care at Malden Park and United Church Women’s Group for over 60 years.
