Passed away on January 4, 2018 at the age of 92 years. He's gone with a smile thanks to his family and wonderful friends. It was quite a flight. Beloved husband of the late Isabel (nee Hayes) Mock. Cherished father of Ed and wife Kate (Tapp) Mock, Sue and husband Gary Belliveau, Gordon and wife Jenny Mock. Loving grandfather of Derek and wife Alison, Craig and wife Erin, Alison, Adam and wife Leslie, Jason, Laura, Crystal, Tammy and husband Karl. Loving great grandfather of Sarah, James, Robin, Ethan, Jacob, Harper, Malaki, Allana, and Sid. Loving “adopted” father to Denis and wife JoAnne Schryer. Dear son of the late William and Susan Mock. Dearest brother of the late William (Bill) Mock. Dear brother in-law of Joyce McLean, the late Irene Hancrar and the late Fred Hayes. George was a long time member of Paulin Memorial Presbyterian Church. He retired from Chrysler Canada in 1980, after 40 years of service. One of the Ford City boys, George served his country as a proud Canadian during WWII, with the Canadian Corps of Signals. After completing basic training at Vimy Barracks in Kingston, he was selected to be a High Speed Signal Operator, training in Ottawa then going to England and on to the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations. Returning to Canada he married his school sweet heart Isabel and they were together for 59 years. George was also a long time member of the Sun Parlor R/C Flyers, life time member and official photographer for both the EAA Chapter 185, and the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association. He was also an honorary life time member of the Windsor Flying Club and contributor to the Windsor Historical Society. George was an avid digital photographer whose photos have appeared in several publications. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor Historical Society, Veterans Memories Project, or the Canadian Historical Aircraft Association would be appreciated by the family.
